State Game, Fish & Parks officials will be holding a kids fishing event Saturday at the future site of the Rapid City Outdoor Campus and Regional Division of Wildlife office complex. The event will be from 9 a.m. until noon.

"We think this will be a great opportunity for kids and families in the area to explore the new Outdoor Campus location," Mike Kintigh, regional supervisor for the Wildlife Division in Rapid City, said in a news release. GF&P staff will be on-hand to help with the fishing and to visit about the Outdoor Campus project. Preliminary plans for the new facility will be on display at the event.

Kids and families are encouraged to bring their own fishing equipment. A limited supply of loaner equipment will be available to those who don't have their own.

The Outdoor Campus site is on Sturgis Road on the way to Black Hawk, about 1/2 mile west of the intersection with West Chicago Street. More information about the project is available online at www.outdoorcampus.org.
