National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service will be observed Sunday, Oct. 5.
A 2001 law signed by President Bush requires lowering U.S. flags to half-staff at federal buildings.
The Rapid City Department of Fire & Emergency Services asks that residents and businesses join in this tribute by also lowering their flags.
