Children enrolled in Youth & Family Services' Rapid City Prenatal to Five Head Start program will stay a little toastier this winter, thanks to the generosity of one local organization.
The Laureate Beta Sorority in Rapid City on Tuesday presented sets of hats and gloves or mittens to about 50 children who attend afternoon classes at the YFS facility on Plaza Boulevard.
YFS Rapid City Head Start offers free half-day preschool services to Rapid City, Black Hawk, Box Elder and Piedmont families. Enrollment is based on a child's age and his or her family's income.
