Prairie Hills Audubon Society will meet Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the City/School Administration Center, 300 6th Street, Rapid City.
Scott Larson of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service of Pierre will focus on black-footed ferret biology and, by necessity, prairie dogs.
It will touch on past, present and future ferret-recovery efforts throughout the ferret's range and highlight a number of the South Dakota ferret reintroductions, along with ferret management activities.
The event begins with a social hour and reception from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Larson's talk begins at 6:30 p.m. Those who attend are asked to enter using the southeast entrance.
