The family of Pfc. Melody (Lynch) Delacruz is hosting a "Welcome Home" party in her honor beginning at 10 a.m. today at the VFW Post #1273 home, 420 Main St.

Delacruz is the daughter of Sharon (Lynch) Czerwonka and step-daughter of Marv Czerwonka, commander of the State Department of South Dakota VFW.

Delacruz arrives at Rapid City Regional Airport this morning at approximately 9:30 a.m. from Ft. Hood, Texas, after spending 15 months deployed in Iraq.

Delacruz is assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division.
