Two runaway teens had about 18 hours of freedom before they were returned to the state-run juvenile corrections program near Custer.
The state Corrections Department said the boys ran away Monday evening from the Youth Challenge Center. They were recaptured Tueday afternoon and returned to the State Treatment and Rehabilitation Academy.
The boys, ages 17 and 16, are from south central and northeast South Dakota.
