Local law enforcement agencies are investigating the death of a 7-month-old boy Monday.

According to a news release from the Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff's Office, emergency personnel responded to a home in the 500 block of Monroe Street about 1 p.m. after receiving a medical call about an infant who was not breathing. The baby was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled for today to determine the cause of death.
