The date to unveil the next four presidential statues, spearheaded by the City of Presidents Foundation, has been changed.
Likenesses of Abraham Lincoln, Rutherford B. Hayes, James Garfield and Benjamin Harrison will be shown to the public at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Elks Theatre.
The event originally was scheduled for a week earlier, according to Dallerie Davis of the City of Presidents Foundation.
This unveiling will bring to 39 the number of life-size bronze presidential likenesses displayed in downtown Rapid City.
The final four - Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Chester Arthur - are expected to be completed in October 2010. The project began in 2000.
