Two more men charged with the May 3 armed robbery of a Sturgis home have pleaded guilty as a part of a plea agreement.

Meade County State's Attorney Jesse Sondreal said Chad Elkins, 24, pleaded guilty on Friday to first-degree burglary, while James Blanding, 20, pleaded guilty to first-degree armed robbery.

For pleading guilty they avoided higher penalties for two counts of first-degree armed robbery, one count of first-degree burglary and two counts of aggravated assault.

The charges stem from a break-in at a Mountain View Estates mobile home park residence, during which two residents were robbed and one of them was shot. Judd Blakeman, 20, was taken to Rapid City Regional Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police.

Elkins and Blanding will be sentenced at 10 a.m. July 23, along with Jeremy Thomas Smith, 24.

Smith pleaded guilty earlier in June to one count of aggravated assault and one count of first-degree armed robbery. He admitted to shooting Blakeman during the break-in, although he said the shooting was accidental.

The three will be sentenced by 4th Circuit Judge John W. Bastian of Belle Fourche.

First-degree armed robbery and first-degree burglary are class 2 felonies that carry a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. Aggravated assault is a class 3 felony, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
