Cause of death under investigation.
The body of missing Belle Fourche man George Bean, 76, was found in his fifth-wheel camper Wednesday morning at a truck stop in Arizona, where he had been vacationing for the winter.
Candy Dowling of Belle Fourche, Bean's granddaughter, said her uncle and aunt, Jack and Denise Foster, found the camper near shade trees at a Casa Grande area truck stop.
Dowling said that her uncle and aunt then called police, who opened it to find the body.
"It was at a truck stop where the police supposedly had looked," she said.
An autopsy was scheduled to be performed, Dowling said.
George Bean had last contacted family members Feb. 3. After not hearing from him for about a week, they turned to law enforcement and the media for help to locate him.
Debra Bean of Spearfish, the missing man's daughter, said Monday that the family was frustrated in their effort to find him. She added that it seemed their missing person report had not been taken very seriously by authorities in Arizona or elsewhere.
Dowling said early Wednesday afternoon that reports by the Butte County Post and the Rapid City Journal's Web site brought more response than anything, even in Arizona.
