RAPID CITY - The trial for a 21-year-old Rapid City man who's charged in the death of a toddler last year has been postponed until Jan. 5.
Matthew Potter was scheduled to go on trial next week, but the prosecutor asked for a delay because some expert witnesses won't be unavailable then.
Potter is charged with alternate counts of 2nd-degree murder and 1st-degree manslaughter for the death of 18-month-old Tanner Jurisch.
Authorities say Potter was baby-sitting three children when Jurisch died of blows to the head. The boy was the son of Potter's girlfriend.
