RAPID CITY - A Rapid City man is in critical condition after a
motorcycle crash Friday about 5:25 p.m., according to the South
Dakota Highway Patrol.
Mark Bonaparte, 30, was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle west
on S.D. Highway 40, about two miles west of Hermosa, when he failed
to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle entered the north ditch and
went down.
Bonaparte was airlifted to Rapid City Regional Hospital and
was listed in critical condition Saturday night.
Authorities say he was wearing a helmet and that speed may
have been a factor in the crash.
