NeighborWorks Dakota Home Resources has announced the winners of its Prettiest Lights contest in the Lead-Deadwood area.
"Despite the early snow and cold temperatures, many residents took time to come up with some beautiful displays for the holidays in Central City, Deadwood and Lead," contest spokeswoman Michelle Eddy said in a news release. Eddy also credited crews who helped light the cities' main streets and parks in Central City, Deadwood and Lead.
The 2008 Prettiest Lights winners are:
* Best Decorated Town: Deadwood.
* Best Neighborhood: Sunset Circle, Lead.
* Deadwood: 1. Bill and Sandy Glover, 14 Crescent; 2. 147 Charles; 3. Larry and Marcy Shama, 51 Van Buren.
* Best Decorated Business: Deadwood Gulch Saloon
* Lead: 1. Joe Caropino, 132 Coolidge; 2. Evelyn Configliacco, 39 Second St.; 3. Jim and Kathy Aberle, 415 Sunset.
* Best Decorated Business: Homestake Visitor's Center
* Central City: 1. Robyn Novotny, 432 Golden Gate; 2. Donovan and Maggie Renner, 443 Golden Gate; 3. Rocky and Barb Mattson, 110 Main St.
* Best Decorated Business: KOA Campground.
