RAPID CITY - The 2007 Pennington County Relay for Life fund-raiser will be held Friday and Saturday, June 8-9, at Sioux Park in Rapid City.

The committee has set a goal to raise $95,000 for the American Cancer Society for research, treatment options, patient services, advocacy, education and a 24/7 cancer center.

At 5:30 p.m., there will be a free cancer survivor reception at the pavilion at Sioux Park. The opening ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the Survivor Walk will begin immediately afterward.

There will be entertainment throughout the night with new events each hour. At 10 p.m., the luminary ceremony will honor cancer victims and survivors. The closing ceremony will begin about 6 a.m. Saturday.
