Actor and comedian David Cross has canceled his appearance at the South Dakota Festival of Books, set for Friday, Oct. 2, in Deadwood.

Cross, known for his role in the television show "Arrested Development," was to discuss his new memoir, "I Drink for a Reason," during the appearance.
