Only one team out of Primal Quest

While rain drenched some parts of the Black Hills on Saturday, the 152 participants in

Primal Quest continued into the second day of a 600-mile endurance adventure.

As of news deadline, only one team had dropped out of the competition and there had

been no major injuries.

Day 2 leaders: Orion Health of New Zealand. The four teammates were arriving at

Slate Creek dam and then heading towards Hill City on mountain bike. Solomon/

Crested Butte was in second place, about 10 miles behind.

Team South Dakota: In 17th place at news deadline, had just biked past Cheyenne

Crossing.

Today: Leading teams will be around the Hill City area, heading towards Crazy Horse

where they will start the trekking phase of the race.
