State government officials, including Gov. Mike Rounds and first lady Jean Rounds, will be in Philip on Thursday, Aug. 28, for "Capital for a Day" activities.
Featured activities include the Department of Public Safety impaired-driving simulation course. Participants will don "fatal vision" goggles and take a driving test on a course in the Philip High School Armory north parking lot between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Trained technicians from the Governor's Car Seat Program will also provide free checks on vehicle safety seats for children from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the parking lot.
There also will be a "Capital for a Day Expo" featuring many state services and a community dinner, featuring comments from Gov. Rounds. For a full agenda, go to www.capitalforaday.sd.gov
