Trends in treating methamphetamine addiction will be reviewed at a public program Thursday, July 24.
Donita Reeves of the Rapid City-Pennington County Alcohol & Drug Programs will be the featured speaker. The MAPP-SD Rapid City Meth Coalition community awareness program is from noon to 1 p.m. at Youth & Family Services Girls' Inc., 202 E. Adams St.
Reeves will discuss Friendship House, an intensive residential treatment center for men, and a state Department of Corrections program for women who have completed jail sentences.
The MAPP-SD Rapid City Meth Coalition meets monthly and sponsors various programs and activities to raise awareness about the dangers of meth. Rapid City has participated in MAPP-SD since January 2004.
