The Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force will bring its B-17 Flying Fortress, dubbed "Sentimental Journey," to Rapid City Regional Airport for public display from Friday through Sunday, June 13-15.

Sentimental Journey, the most fully restored B-17 Flying Fortress, is a World War II vintage bomber airplane. The aircraft will fly into Rapid City Regional Airport at noon Friday, offering the public an up-close and personal look at this piece of aviation history. The public is invited to tour the airplane inside and out. A $5 donation is requested to tour through the plane.

Visitor access to the Sentimental Journey display will be near Westjet Air Center in the general aviation area at Rapid City Regional Airport.

Flight opportunities are available for $425 per person, with a minimum of five persons per flight. Flights average 45 minutes, and passengers must be at least 18 years old.

For more information or to make reservations, call 602-448-9415.

The plane will be on display from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting, or until the crowd thins out.
