Cangleska will host Diva Day on Friday, Oct. 19 in Rapid City and on Monday, Oct. 29, in Kyle.
The events will offer women of all races, cultures and ages the opportunity to have their hair and makeup professionally done, sample foods, get massages and participate in various other activities.
"They can go get pampered," Kay Humphrey, Cangleska media relations coordinator said.
In Kyle, Diva Day will begin at 1 p.m. at the Lulyahan Oti shelter, and in Rapid City, it will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mother Butler Center gym, at 220 Wright St.
Diva Day is a celebration of women in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which is October.
Child care will be available at each facility.
"It's just women coming together getting a chance to visit," Karen Artichoker, director of Cangleska, said. "There are so many women who either can't afford to do these things or just never take the time to do it."
More information about the events is available by calling 388-3388.
Meanwhile, White Buffalo Calf Woman Society will host a conference Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 22 and 23, for survivors of and advocates against domestic violence in South Dakota. It will be held at Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Rapid City.
The conference is one of several activities in commemoration of October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
