Downtown Sturgis will sparkle Friday, Dec. 5, with more than 30 entries in the annual Sturgis Parade of Lights.

The entries will be competing for Most Original, Most Colorful, Christmas Spirit and Judges' Choice awards.

This year's parade, sponsored by Black Hills Power, will begin at 6 p.m. at Lynn's DakotaMart parking lot on Lazelle Street. The route will follow Fourth Street to Main Street, east to Junction Avenue, and then south.

After looping Sturgis Regional Hospital, the parade will return to Junction and continue to the site of the former livestock sale barn near Interstate 90 Exit 32.

During the parade, Sturgis Coffee Company will serve complimentary hot chocolate and coffee at the Sturgis Center for the Arts on Main Street.

After the parade, Realtors for Kids and Realtors Against Meth will sponsor a chili feed, for donations, at the Sturgis Armory on Main Street.
