The city of Sturgis has announced that Pepper Massey has been named permanent director of the Sturgis Rally Department, beginning today.
Massey joined the Rally Department on June 25 as interim director.
She has worked in public relations, communications, event planning and marketing and has more than 25 years of experience in the motorcycle community.
"It is a great opportunity for me to make a difference in my community, which I care deeply about, and in the rally, which I'm passionate about," Massey said.
Massey heads a four-person team responsible for overseeing the rally, managing public relations, media, marketing and promotions, city property rentals and providing information to the public.
Massey has worked for Harley-Davidson dealerships and has been part of the Sturgis rally since 1985.
She is a longtime member of the American Motorcycle Association and Harley Owners Group and is a founding member of the Undaunted Motorcycle Club.
