SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - Western Nebraska Community College officials say they will host three public screenings and discussions of a documentary examining problems tied to the northwest Nebraska village of Whiteclay.
"The Battle for Whiteclay" follows Native American activists in their efforts to end alcohol sales in the village that sits near South Dakota's Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where alcohol is banned.
Filmmaker Mark Vasina complained Tuesday after he said he was told the screenings were canceled. College officials denied canceling.
College officials said Wednesday they'll open the events to the public.
One screening is set for Monday night at the college's Alliance campus. Two more are planned for Tuesday on the Sidney and Scottsbluff campuses.
