U.S. Attorney for South Dakota Marty Jackley announced Friday the completion of additional training for officers serving in and around Native American communities.
The federal Bureau of Indian Affairs Special Law Enforcement Commission training was conducted on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Jackley said in a news release the training is designed to enhance law enforcement efforts and satisfy BIA criteria to enforce federal laws in tribal areas.
He commended three prosecutors and BIA officers conducting the training and the law enforcement officers who participated in this training to improve public safety in Native communities.
