The overnight death of a Wanblee woman is being investigated as a domestic violence incident, according to Everett Little Whiteman, Pine Ridge police chief.
Little Whiteman said a suspect is in custody and facing charges in tribal court.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs and Federal Bureau of Investigation are conducting the investigation.
Names of the victim and her alleged assailant were not released.
