RAPID CITY - Dorothy Jones of Rapid City was awarded the MS 2007 Caregiver of the Year Award from the North Central States Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The chapter includes South Dakota, North Dakota and Iowa.

Jones has been a certified nursing assistant for more than 20 years and works at the Golden Living Center at 2500 Arrowhead Drive in Rapid City.

Jones cares for many at the center, some of whom have been inflicted with MS for most, if not all, of their lives.

"The people she cares for are looked at and cared for like her family, and she spends many hours and much of her time going above and beyond the call of duty to make these people feel special," Suzanne Comrie, who nominated Jones for the award, said.
