The South Dakota Auctioneers Association selected Dan Clark of Winner for the People's Choice Auctioneer Award at its recent 46th annual convention in Aberdeen.

The group also elected officers and directors for the coming year. They include Terry Haiar, Alexandria, president; Rich Krogstad, Spearfish, president-elect; and Clark as vice president. Directors for the upcoming year include: Riley Waltman, Box Elder; Bill Eckert, Okaton; Dale Nauman, Gettysburg; Ted Petrak, Chamberlain; Randy Owen, Watertown, and Bob Julson, Garretson. Outgoing president Carl Schwab of Andover was commended for his service.

The association also inducted Robert Peterson of Brookings, the late Willis Hanson and the late Curtis Price into its Hall of Fame. Their addition brings to 20 the number of members honored since 2002.

The South Dakota Auctioneers Association will hold its annual Bid Calling Championship on Sunday, Aug. 31, at the South Dakota State Fair in Huron.
