A St. Francis man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for a stabbing death on Rosebud Indian Reservation.
Melvin Smashed Ice, 38, was indicted for second-degree murder but pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter.
Smashed Ice argued with a 17-year-old boy last June, chased him down and stabbed him with a pocket knife in the neck and heart, according to court documents.
