RAPID CITY - The South Dakota Peace and Justice Center is hosting Peace Vigils in Rapid City every noon to 1 p.m. on Fridays, according to a news release from the center.
Vigils will take place in front of the Jimmy Carter statue at 6th Street and St. Joseph Street.
Peace vigils are meant to protest the war and pray for the lives of U.S. service men and women and others in harm's way because of the conflict in Iraq, according to the news release from the center.
