First Western Bank opened in Lead's Twin City Mall on Thursday
Dusty Pinske, a First Western employee since 1997, has been named vice president and manager of the new bank, according to a news release. She grew up in Belle Fourche and graduated from Dakota School of Banking at Jamestown University.
"We think Lead is an important place to be and a part of our commitment to serving the entire Black Hills and Badlands region," Shawn Rost, First Western's president for Deadwood-Lead, said in the news release. Rost noted that opening the bank required going to the Supreme Court to overcome objections by a competitor.
While the bank is open, work on updating the mall's façade will be finished in early August.
First Western Bank serves 13 communities at 19 locations throughout the Black Hills and Badlands and is part of First Interstate BancSystem.
