Local teams to compete in state cheer/dance contest

The State Competitive Cheer/Dance Competition begins today in Yankton, with several local high school teams competing.

St. Thomas More will begin the dance competition at 12:15 p.m. CST with a pom routine; Douglas will perform a cheer stunt routine at 12:20 p.m.; Lead-Deadwood will follow with a dance pom routine at 12:25 p.m.; Belle Fourche dances a pom routine at 12:35 p.m., and White River will do a stunt routine at 1:20 p.m.

The event will break from 1:50 p.m. to 2:05 p.m., and St. Thomas More will perform a hip-hop dance at 2:15 p.m.; Lead-Deadwood will give their hip-hop routine at 2:25 p.m.; Douglas will take the floor for a stunt routine at 2:30 p.m.; Bell Fourche will dance a hip-hop routine at 2:35 p.m.; St. Thomas More will dance a jazz routine at 3:05 p.m.; Lead-Deadwood will also perform a jazz routine at 3:15 p.m., and Bell Fourche will close the competition with a jazz routine at 3:35 p.m.
