The Air Force Financial Services Center at Ellsworth Air Force Base added another 45 employees Monday. The new employees bring the center's work force up to 386, most of whom are active-duty military personnel.
The new civilian contractors will work in customer service and process military and travel pay, said Chief Master Sgt. Kenneth Kirtley, the command functional manager of the center.
The new hires include two supervisors and two information technical workers who will provide support for the computer systems.
"Salaries are comparable with government schedule employees performing similar work," Kirtley said in an e-mailed statement.
The Air Force consolidated all of its financial services at the central processing center with a 24-hour call center. It opened in September 2007.
