One of the most successful football coaches in recent Black Hills State University has resigned his position.
According to BHSU athletic director Jhett Albers, John Scott announced last Wednesday that he would be stepping down as the Yellow Jackets head coach to take a job with an athletic apparel business.
Scott said he would be taking a position with Universal Athletics as a representative in the western South Dakota region. According to Albers, Scott will likely stay in the Spearfish area for now.
A news conference has been scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Donald Young Center on the BHSU campus in Spearfish.
According to the university's sports information department, a search for a new coach is already under way.
