A Rapid City man was killed Monday in Wyoming when his motorcycle collided with a deer.

Blaine DiSanto, 47, died at the scene, according to a report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Passenger Christy DiSanto, also 47, was injured and evacuated by helicopter to a hospital, but further information was not available Monday night.

The accident happened about 2:30 p.m., 29 miles north of Gillette, Wyo., on Wyoming Highway 14/16.

A witness said the DiSantos were riding southeast, toward Gillette, when four deer crossed the road. The first deer ran into the 2004 Honda VTX. The motorcycle flipped a couple times, throwing off the riders, both of whom were wearing helmets, the witness said.

There was no indication of excessive speed in the Highway Patrol report.
