A Sturgis teen remains in serious condition after a Wednesday morning motorcycle accident on S.D. Highway 34 at Sturgis City Park's east side.

Caitlin Budahl, 15, was listed in serious condition at Rapid City Regional Hospital late Friday. She was one of three people injured in the accident.

According to a South Dakota Highway Patrol report, Justin Regan, 18, Sturgis, was traveling east on a 1992 Honda motorcycle about 11 a.m., when it made contact with the curb. Regan lost control of the motorcycle and it went down, throwing Regan and Budahl, his passenger, to the pavement.

Regan was taken by ambulance to Sturgis Regional Hospital and was transferred to Rapid City Regional Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. Budahl airlifted to Rapid City Regional with serious injuries.

A second motorcycle, a 1984 Honda driven by 17-year-old Roger Lindstrom of Sturgis, was following Regan, and it went down on the road because of the first accident. Lindstrom was taken by ambulance to Sturgis Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released. None of those involved was wearing a helmet.

The Sturgis Police Department, Meade County Sheriff's Office and the Sturgis Ambulance and Fire responded to the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
