SPEARFISH - Terry Leneal Palmer, 52, of Spearfish, will be arraigned Thursday, Feb. 14, in 4th Circuit Court on multiple counts of sexual contact, rape and possession of child pornography.
A 31-page indictment, dated Jan. 24, lists 45 counts of sexual contact with a minor dating from January 2004 to September 2007. The indictment, handed down by a Lawrence County Grand Jury, also lists five counts of rape in December 2007 and five counts of rape dated from August 2007 to December 2007.
The investigation was conducted by the Spearfish Police Department.
There are another 80 counts of possession of child pornography, based on 80 photographs that police believe Palmer possessed from June through August 2007.
The sexual-contact charges carry a mandatory 10-year prison sentence if convicted. The rape charges have mandatory minimum sentences of 15 years in prison if convicted. Child-pornography convictions carry a maximum of two years in prison on each count.
Fourth Circuit Judge Randall Macy will preside over the case.
Palmer is being held in Lawrence County Jail.
