PIERRE - A new sentencing date has been set for former state Rep. Ted Klaudt of Walker, who has been convicted of four counts of second-degree rape in Hughes County.

Klaudt now will be sentenced Jan. 17 in Pierre.

Klaudt's sentencing last Friday was postponed after he was admitted to a Bismarck, N.D., hospital with health problems. He was released later on Friday.

A Hughes County jury convicted Klaudt in a case that involved two foster daughters who were with him when he attended the 2005 and 2006 legislative sessions. He gave them physical exams in a phony scheme to sell their reproductive eggs.

The maximum sentence is 25 years in prison for each conviction.
