Four traffic deaths in three separate crashes are being blamed on slick roads caused by the state's first snowstorm.

The Highway Patrol reports that all the deaths occurred Friday night in northern Wyoming when the storm hit the area.

Two people died and three others were injured when a vehicle hit a patch of black ice on U.S. 14A southwest of Powell in Park County and struck another vehicle.

One person died and another was hurt when a passenger car went out of control on an icy Wyoming 120 north of Meeteetse in Park County and hit another vehicle coming from the other direction.

And in Johnson County, a 13-year-old boy died when the car he was riding in hit ice on a bridge on Interstate 90 and rolled.

Meantime, residents in areas of the state that received heavy snow were still digging out Monday.

The storm dropped more than a foot of snow on Gillette. Many tree limbs buckled under the load, crashing to the ground and damaging whatever was beneath.

Scott Benson, operations manager at the city Public Works Department, said he saw cars, houses and other structures with "significant damage" from fallen branches.

There were also sporadic power outages from limbs falling on power lines.
