RAPID CITY - Kent Hazelrigg is an angel.
At least he is to Dee and Everett Eastman, who have spent the past week worrying about how to move their double-wide mobile home. Residents in Eastbrooke Mobile Home Park, where the Eastmans live, have been given until Dec. 1 to vacate the park.
The Eastmans had started selling their furniture, trying to raise the $7,000 they were told it would cost to move the home.
As it turns out, Hazelrigg will move the house for $3,000.
"I'm just ecstatic, because we're actually going to be able to pay that," Dee Eastman said Wednesday. "Last night, I actually slept."
Because of the way the Eastmans' 1977 mobile home was built, a house mover is needed to transport it and its attached addition. The Eastmans will move to a lot in Williamsburg Estates near Black Hills Speedway.
So will their neighbors, Mavis and John Cochran. Hazelrigg has agreed to move them, too. The Cochrans will settle into Williamsburg Estates when a lot opens next month.
"She really wants to stay neighbors," Dee said. "I'm so glad that God is sending all these angels."
More than 65 tenants in the park were given notice last week that they would have to move. Many feel they should have been given more time to make moving plans. The park's owner, Mark Mollers, has declined to comment.
