The South Dakota Highway Patrol
seized 21 pounds of methamphetamine and one kilogram of cocaine
Monday east of Rapid City during a traffic stop.
A trooper stopped a car shortly
after 1 p.m. on Interstate 90 about 10 miles east of Rapid City for
a traffic violation.
A drug dog detected something in
the car, and a search was conducted. Troopers found six grams of
crystal meth and a pipe. Continued searching resulted in the
discovery of a hidden compartment in the vehicle, which held 21
pounds of crystal meth and one kilogram of cocaine, which equals
about 2.2 pounds.
The names of the people involved
have been withheld pending investigation.
