DEADWOOD - A former Lead-Deadwood High School secretary who has been charged with stealing more than $18,000 from scholarship funds is now charged with 12 counts of grand theft by embezzlement.
Donna Marie Quenzer initially was charged with six counts.
However, Lawrence County States Attorney John Fitzgerald says further investigation prompted a second indictment with the additional charges.
The new indictment alleges that Quenzer stole from 12 scholarship funds and used the money for personal expenses.
Quenzer is scheduled to appear again in court on Aug. 14.
She had earlier pleaded not guilty to the theft charges.
Quenzer resigned from her position in early April after being indicted by a Lawrence County grand jury.
