MITCHELL - A teenager is dead and four other teens are hurt after a one-car accident on S.D. Highway 37 a few miles south of Mitchell.
The Highway Patrol says the car went into the ditch, hit a culvert and dropped into a creek where it broke through the ice and into 3 to 4 feet of water.
The patrol said a passenger, 15-year-old McKenzie Degen of Mitchell, died at a hospital.
The accident happened about 9:45 p.m. Friday.
