Mobridge hunting guide Kerry Konold has been put on probation for three years after paying nearly $40,000 for evading state taxes.

Konold pleaded guilty to two felony counts of filing false or fraudulent sales tax returns and one misdemeanor count of failing to keep records of his business transactions.

The 44-year-old owner of Outrageous Adventures was ordered to pay $23,084 in back taxes, $9,000 in interest and $6,500 for prosecution costs.

Circuit Judge Scott Myren granted Konold a suspended imposition of sentence, meaning his conviction will be sealed if he meets all conditions of his probation.
