The 2008 South Dakota Republican state convention is set for Friday and Saturday at Cedar Shore Resort in Oacoma.
Party officials say some committee meetings will be held on Thursday but that the convention will be called to order Friday morning.
GOP delegates will select a candidate for a Public Utilities Commission seat along with a national committeeman, national committeewoman and presidential electors.
The convention also will pass resolutions and the state party's 2008 platform.
The party's U.S. Senate candidate, Joel Dykstra; U.S. House candidate Chris Lien, Sen. John Thune and Gov. Mike Rounds will be among those featured during the gathering.
