The March trial of a Chadron man accused of stabbing his roommate to death has been rescheduled for June 8.
Dawes County Judge Brian Silverman granted a delay to give defense lawyers for Joseph Hotz more time to prepare for the jury trial. Silverman also scheduled a pre-trial conference May 12.
Hotz, 25, is charged in connection with Dec. 5 incidents including the death of Chadron State College student Kenny Pfeiffer. Hotz faces first-degree murder and attempted murder charges, four counts of use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, one count of making terroristic threats and one count of attempted robbery.
Hotz is being held in Dawes County Jail without bail.
