RAPID CITY - Firefighters managed to corral a fast-moving wildland fire Monday that burned about 700 acres in less that four hours near Ellsworth Air Force Base.
As of 4 p.m., base officials said the fire had been completely contained.
According to a news release from the base, Ellsworth firefighters teamed up with fire departments and other agencies from Box Elder, North Haines, Piedmont, Sturgis, Hermosa, Great Plains, Black Hawk, Rapid Valley, Keystone, Doty and New Underwood to contain the fire.
No buildings were reported burned in the fire, and no injuries were reported.
