The woman accused of stabbing a man in the head last spring can regain her freedom pending trial by posting $300 cash bond.

Andrea Fay, 32, has pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault for the March 23 stabbing of John Siers. Police reportedly found Siers at a Wambli Drive home with a knife sticking out of his head. He has since recovered.

Fay was released on bond but arrested in June on suspicion of drunk driving. At that time, Judge A.P. "Peter" Fuller agreed to reinstate her bond because authorities had failed to tell her that breaking the law would violate terms of her bond.

Fay was arrested again Dec. 20 after failing an alcohol breath test. Defense attorney Bruce Ellison told Fuller Monday that Fay has been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings but believes she needs a sponsor to maintain her sobriety.

Fuller agreed to set the cash bond provided that Fay submit to twice-daily breathalyzer tests and to warrantless searches.
