The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology M-Week Homecoming celebration begins Sunday.
Activities kick into high gear with the Senior/Frosh Picnic at Dinosaur Park, where students will drape a blanket that features a giant "M" over one of the cement creatures. The climax of the week - the Homecoming football game -- will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, against Dakota State University.
"Students, staff, faculty and alumni all hold the M-Week traditions close," school president Robert A. Wharton said in a news release. "It's a time for everyone to celebrate being part of such an outstanding university and to carry on traditions started more than 90 years ago -- and perhaps to start a few new ones."
