SIOUX FALLS - The 2007 Legislature granted trapping privileges to nonresidents, so the state Game, Fish and Parks Commission now must create rules governing the activity.

At its May meeting, the commission approved a proposal that's scheduled for action at the June 7-8 meeting in Pierre.

The proposal would create a nonresident furbearer license fee of $250. It also would bar nonresident trappers from taking mink, weasel, muskrat, beaver and raccoon November.

Also, they could not take bobcats until the second Saturday of January, the agency said in a release.
