SIOUX FALLS - A new report gives South Dakota and 34 others states grades of "unsatisfactory" for women's health.

The National Women's Law Center and Oregon Health & Science University report gives the nation as a whole an unsatisfactory rating. The report says only three out of 27 benchmarks, developed largely using goals set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, have been met.

Those three goals are the percentage of women over 40 who get regular mammograms, regularly see a dentist and get screened for colon cancer after age 50.

No state received a "satisfactory grade." Three - Vermont, Minnesota and Massachusetts - received grades of "satisfactory minus."

Obesity and diabetes rates are among the most troubling regressions, the report said.
